Today we headed off to the water. Our Captain for our cruise was Steve and Al and myself making up the crew hands. We shoved off at 06:20 and headed out to Botany Bay.
It was a great way to meet the day and to see the city from a completly different view, within the confinds of the river inlets the water was calm and smooth, but as we headed into the bay proper the swell got a little bigger and the wind a little stiffer. After having a practice cast, on which Al was successful with his first, we headed out past the heads. I have to admit there was a level of unpleasentness that hung with me for the first hour or so, but once I gained my "Sea legs" the day was very pleasent. Everyone had a measure of success (flathead and squid), although I think the fish and squid won the day over the angliers. Both Al and myself caught a bit too much sun, while Captain Steve was more sunwise.
After the fishing trip it was a quick wash and a change of clothes it was off to the Super14 Rugby match (Waratahs v Sharks). While Al was happy to see his team go round the park, the tah's made easy work of them in the end.
