Oaks Trail - Woodford to Glenbrook

After my initial ride at Oxford Falls the week before, I decided to have a go at the Oaks Trail from Woodford to Glenbrook (28kms). And a nice ride it was too. It's great to have such a nice ride so close to Sydney. Clear blue sky's and having a day off work made it even sweeter. Mostly down hill, and plenty of broken ground to have fun on.

Entrance to the National Park at Woodford.

And away we go.

A break at the circles.

Another great view.

We decided on a slight detour to the Nepean Lookout (8km round trip from the gate, heading to the right). The view is worth the effort. The track (single lane) from the "Gate" back to the causeway will give you plenty of thrill if you go hard.

View from the Nepean Lookout.

Nepean River.

Entrance to the Blue Mountains National Park (Glenbrook), it was about 1:30 PM and we were very happy to be nearly done. It was about 35 degrees C. The road out from the causeway was a real killer. It took us about 4hrs (nice and easy) to do the 35km's.

Oxford Falls - First Bike Trail

Oxford Falls is in the Norhtern Beaches, and I thought I'd take my new bike out for a spin. Lorenzo joined me for the run. It was a latish start about 9:30, which we paid for by midday.

Oxford Falls Trails

We took the "Deep Creek" track and found our way to a nice little waterfall.

The local residents didn't seem to fussed.

A nice "little" rut, all the way down the hill...

Left or Right?

Working up a sweat. While we stayed under the shade of the trees the heat wasn't too bad, but once out in the open, it was a different story. Looking forward to the winter months and the lower temperatures.

All done...
