Mount Ku-ring-gai (bottom of Harwood Ave)

Bobbin Head

Dropped Pin (furthest point)

Couldn't find the track up the hill, the indistinct track will need a
bit of signage I think. Spent about 5 mins trying to find it, gave up
and decided to head back.

Dropped Pin fini

It was supposed to be a 20 k walk but ended up being a 30+ endevour.
The route I want to use was closed for repair so I had to take the
long way round. 5h28m.

Dropped Pin (the spit)

Just finished my paddle to Bantry Bay taking my new toy for a spin.

It was a wet one, was going to do 3hrs, but half that was plenty today.

Brooklyn to Berowra - the wrap up

Well, it was my intention to attempt the 30km walk within 4 hours, but after a promising start, things started to slow down on the descent to Jerusalem Bay, and while the climb out wasn't to bad (heading to Cowan) it still required effort. I was happy knowing that this was the direction we would be going on the actual day. The reverse direction after 70km didn't bear thinking. Once on the ridge (Cowan Station), Nick and i began the descent to Berowra Waters. Again a steep descent and the inevitable ascent start to take it's toll, but I knew this wasn't going to be easy. Again I'm thankful that the toughest sections are in the first half of the 100km's, and not the back end.

My knee started playing up on the descents, so I'll need to be careful and focus on some isolation exercises.

It ended up taking a tad under 5 and a half hours, not too bad for a section I've never walked before, so that's the baseline.

If we can get to Apple tree bay before night fall I'd be very happy, but now I know what I have to do.

AROC Lake Macquarie

The last of the ARCO Sprint Series was held to day at Murray's Beach (new Swansea). There were heaps of teams, in fact they had to have three wave starts. This was a team training run for the "Big Fish Team" for the GEO in June. It was a good day out, a bit of sunshine, a bit of rain, a swim in the ocean and plenty of those hills we love to run and ride up. :-).

GEO training weekend

We're finally washed and clean. It's been a hectic day and a half. It
started with a run out to long reef from collaroy plateau, then it was
over to church point for a split kayak/run for a couple of hours.
After a late lunch, we started off on ride to north head and theout
for a night paddle before bed.

It was a 03:30 wakeup call and we were off to terry hills for a ride
for a couple of hours. Getting back at 6:30 for. Quick hour run, then
out for one last paddle. Crikey.. Time for rest.
